Minutes of Star Chapter 447 – December 2010
The members of Star Chapter 447 enjoyed a Christmas Party for the December meeting. The event was held at Fairview Inn in Jackson, MS on December 7th. Everyone enjoyed a wonderful meal and good fellowship.
Business taken care of during the event included the election of officer for 2011. There was a tie for the office of presidency between Ray Coulter (incumbent) and Clyde Graham. Ray generously offered to step aside and let Clyde take the office. Vice President is Vernon Moore. Secretary is Jean Grobe. Treasurer is Steve Leslie. Lady of the Star is Romona Leslie. Sargent at Arms is Pete Breslin. Star Vet is Bob Grobe.
Steve Leslie reported that we have $2540 in our treasury designated for the Special Olympics. From this, we will purchase the gun we raffled off to raise this money. The gun will cost $279 less a $30 rebate. He also reported that we have $1185.76 in the Treasury (not too be confused with the monies specified for the Special Olympics) and $25 in petty cash. Ray suggested that we purchase the gun from our treasury to make our donation larger to the Special Olympics. Everyone agreed.
We held the drawing for the gun and Cliff Coulter won.
A wonderful evening was enjoyed by all.
