Ray Coulter reported on the Executive Board Meeting that was held in December. Items discussed were the formulation of Chapter By-Laws and the establishment of committees. He also noted that the Chapter Charter was on the head table and anyone was welcome to read or review it.
Steve Leslie then gave an overview of the Chapter Charter. what it is and the benefits to add our own By-Laws as an organization to go along with the Charter and By-Laws of Star.
Ray Coulter spoke briefly about one of the articles in the Charter that has to do with the "Official" rides of our group. The Road Captain determines the rides and a 3 week notice of "Official" rides is needed. If an "Official" ride is rained out. it does not count towards the 40% rule as established bv Star.
John Gray, Vice President, read the Charter to the Chapter. It included License Agreements and restriction there in, mission statement, memorandum of conduct, term of license and the renewal process, and the structure of our organization. It also covered the 3 ride rule, gave time lines for electing officers and the appointment of the Board of Trustees. It covered trademark and copyright information and gave guidelines for chapter activities and web site requirements.
Members were then asked to sign the Charter. Member information sheets were handed out to the members for review for accuracy. Members were asked to fill out waiver forms and provide their drivers license with the motor cycle endorsement, Star membership card, and insurance card with carrier and policy number. This information was checked and verified. Rodney Huckeby also provided members with medical information cards to be completed and carried in member’s wallets and in their motorcycles in case of an emergency.
Joy Coulter sold 50/50 tickets with 50% going to the chapter and 50% going to the winner. $80 was collected and the winner of $40 was Bob Grobe.
Carolyn Huckeby, LOS Rep, stated that Bunko will be held on January 19th at 6:30 at her house.
