Star Chapter 447

Star Chapter 447 meet on July 6, 2010 at Cool Water Café for the monthly meeting.
Ray Coulter, president, called the meeting to order and lead in prayer.
Ray reported on the ride with the Laurel chapter. Enjoyed by all but HOT!
Steve Leslie, Treasurer, reported a balance of $1422.11 in the bank and $25 in petty cash. He reported that chapter member Kedar Abaied donated $200 to our Special Olympics fund.
Romona Leslie, Entertainment Chairman, reported that our couples night out was held at Pepitos. There was a large crowd and everyone enjoed! She announced that she is planning a chapter picnic in October at Holmes County State Park.
Vernon Moore, Ride Captain, said “Let’s Ride!” when asked for a committee report.
Julie Grantham, Fund Raising Chairman, reported that she had researched the possibility of a coffee sale. Seattle Drip will provide the bagged coffee with our customized label on it for $6 a bag. We will sell it for $12 and the proceeds will go towards our donation to Special Olympics. We can even sell it online but the profit will only be $3 per bag. Jean Grobe moved that the chapter put up the $600 needed to buy the first 100 bags and we sell the Seattle Drip coffee for our fund raiser and Romona Leslie seconded. Vernon Moore opposed the motion.
Rodney Huckeby mad a motion to amend the motion to 200 bags and sell 100 of the bags at Star Days. Romona Leslie seconded it and again Vernon Moore opposed. Much discussion followed.
Kedar made the motion to vote again on what we are going to do and Romona seconded.
Clyde Graham moved to scratch the second hundred bags and Romona seconded.
The original motion remained in place with the chapter purchasing 100 bags of Seattle Drip coffee to be sold at Star Days and by the members.
