June minutes for Star 447 meeting
June 1st
- Meeting opened with prayer by Ray
- Minutes read from last meeting by Bob Grobe
- Minutes nominated to accept by Ramona and 2nd by Keader
- Committees announcement; June 19th at 4 pm, a crawfish boil at Carolyns and Rodneys (at a later date, this was canceled)
- Treasurer report by Steve; $1372.00 in checking with $25.00 in petty cash for a total of $1397.00
- Ride committee, Veron said he is ready to ride.
- Star Days, July 20 thru 23rd, leaving the 19th with Rodney doing a safety check on all bikes that are going, 2 or 3 days ahead of time.
- Star-ba-Laya in Shreveport, La October 2nd
- The Laurel group requests on the 26th of June to meet in Magee for a supper ride starting at 5 pm.
- Discussed the trip to the Special Olympics; very good trip, plan to do it yearly. A plaque from Special Olympics was presented to the group.
- A motion was made to adopt special Olympics as the object of our fund raiser each year. Accepted by Larry Grubbs and 2nd by Ramona.
- It was agreed to hang our plaque at Got Gear.
- Vernon announced the his and Lynda’s church (Lakeshore Baptist) was having a Bikers Sunday with a Blessing of the bikes and meal on the 4th of July.
- 50/50 tickets will be sold at bike night at Got Gear.
- 50/50 tickets were sold and Henry won $30.00.
- Motioned to close by Larry Grubbs, 2nd by Ramona.
