May minutes for Star 447 meeting
May 4th
- Meeting opened with prayer by Ray
- Guest of Bill and Susie introduced; Mike Pippin
- April minutes were read by John Gray in Jean Grobe absence
- Minutes nominated to accept by Larry, seconded by Ramona and approved
- Officers will meet this month
- Julie does not have any fund raising ideas as of yet
- June 19th will be a crawfish boil at the Huckabee’s house. Families are invited.
- Ramona might have a fall picnic
- Treasury report; $1337.02 in check book, $25.00 in petty cash, for a total of $1362.02
- Patches & T shirts are for sale; see John Gray
- Everyone that is going to special Olympics on Friday, meet at the Pilot on Hwy 49 at 4:30 AM and leave at 5:30AM
- John has the new agenda for the special Olympics, see John for details
- John has more special Olympics T shirts for sale
- John also has raffle tickets for sale for a grill & pressure washer to be given away on May the 12th
- Ray is asking for all that can to ride for the special Olympics to do so to represent the group
- The Star flag was added to by Jean Grobe, everyone thought it looked great and she was thanked
- Meridian is trying to start a Star Chapter and is asking us and Laurel to come to an open house at Meridian Yamaha and join in a poker run at 10:00 am. We will meet at the waffle house in Brandon and leave there at 8:00 am
- Steve presented pamphlets for the Barber Vintage motorsports museum and some are going to go at some point. Steve said to plan at least a half of a day for the tour and it was mentioned by Ray that on the way home from Star days they might stop there for Saturday. Will discuss again in the April meeting
- 50/50 tickets were sold, $70.00 was raised and Pete one the $35.00
