· Star Chapter 447
· Minutes November 2, 2010
· The meeting of star chapter 447 for November was held at Cool Water Café on November 2nd. Ray Coulter, President, called the meeting to order and Walt Drane lead the group in prayer.
· Jean Grobe, Secretary, read the minutes of the October meeting and the minutes of the Club picnic held on October 9th. Both were accepted as read with Vernon Moore making the motion and Romona Leslie seconding.
· Steve Leslie, Treasurer, gave the treasurers report. We started the month with $1529.61 and deposited $83 for t-shirt sales and 50/50 proceeds. Expenses totaled $451.85 for picnic expenses and flowers. The new bank balance is $1160.76 with an additional $25 in petty cash. In addition, we have $1212.00 in our coffee fund. Jean moved the report be accepted and Walt and Julie seconded. Steve asked permission to purge old financial records and the membership voted to do so.
· Julie, Fund Raiser Chairman, reported that in addition to the $1212.00 we have in the coffee fund, we also have 10 bags of coffee left. John Gray spoke for 2 of the bags leaving us a balance of 8 bags on hand. Julie also reported that raffle tickets were being passed out and they need to be sold and the monies and ticket stubs turned in on or by December 7th.
· Romona Leslie, Social Chairman, announced that our Christmas Party is going to be December 7th at the Fairview Inn. She passed out menus for us to choose 3 entrees for the party. She announced that next Tuesday the Ladies will meet for dinner. The men will also meet for dinner.
· Vernon Moore, Ride Captain, reported on the ride the previous Saturday. The group rode to French Camp for Lunch and we accompanied by many deer. On the way back, the group stopped at the BP in Kosciusko for gas and participated in a “customer appreciation” drawing. Everyone won something, and Walt Drane won a $50 gas card and the grand prize of an IPod tower! They missed all the deer and won prizes…someone was watching over our group last Saturday! Vernon announced that there will be a ride this next Saturday…it’s gonna be cold and that’s what leathers are for!
· John Gray, Vice President, announced that Southern Thunder is sponsoring a ride on November 12th to Southaven and Tunica. He is emailing details to everyone.
· Vernon announced that the MS Corvette Club is sponsoring a poker run from Madison the Rocky Springs to Lorman for chicken then back to Vicksburg and then the Jackson. Details to follow.
· Ray recognized Vernon for the outstanding job he is doing as Ride Captain. A well deserved applause was given to Vernon.
· Joy Coulter invited all the girls to a Pampered Chef Party at her house on the 15th.
· Ray passed out forms for nominations for 2011 officers. While these were being tallied, we held the 50/50 drawing. Cliff Coulter won the drawing for $25.
· Nominations were tallied and the following are to be voted on at the next meeting for 2011 officers:
· President/Vice President: Ray Coulter/John Gray or Clyde Graham/Vernon Moore
· Secretary: Jean Grobe
· Treasurer: Steve Leslie
· Sgt at Arms: Rodney Huckeby, Pete Breslin, John Murphy
· Lady of the Star: Romona Leslie, Joy Coulter, Julie Graham
· Star Vet: Bob Grobe, Pete Breslin
· Jean Grobe volunteered to print the ballots and get an email out to all members about the nominees and the election.
· Walt made the motion to adjourn and Romona seconded.
